West Virginia Pumpkin Festival Scholarships   

A letter to West Virginia High School Guidance Counselors 

Dear Guidance Counselors:

The West Virginia Pumpkin Festival is offering Three (3) scholarships for students entering a PUBLIC West Virginia college or university in the fall of 2013. The amount of each scholarship is $2000.00 We are asking for your help in finding deserving students for these scholarships.  Please give a copy to your senior students. Feel free to make as many copies as you need. The applications must be returned to the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival by March 31, 2013.  If you or your students have any questions please call (304) 634-7592 or (304) 638-1633. The West Virginia Pumpkin Festival is proud to be offering this scholarship for the sixteenth year. We are looking forward to hearing from your students.

2012 WV Pumpkin Festival School Days    

Thursday October 4th or Friday October 5th

The West Virginia Pumpkin Festival would like to invite you and your students to spend a fun and educational day with us on Thursday or Friday. We will have many of the activities we have had in the past such as:

Teachers, please make sure you give all your parents this information. We don't want any hard feelings over a pumpkin.

A pamphlet of activities will be available. Note that activities may be added after the pamphlet is printed.

In the Entertainment Building you will find age appropriate entertainment for the students. 

In the Agriculture Tent you will find a "cow" (not real) to milk and a chicken laying eggs. Students can dig for potatos, watch bees gathering honey and many more activities to show students the source of some of the food they eat.

Look in the "Arts and Crafts Tent" for spinning, weaving, canning displays, et al.

Please call Becky Cooper at (304)743-9159 and leave your name, school name and number of students you will be bringing. The count is needed in order to ensure enough pumpkins for the students (preschool to 5th grades). If no answer, please leave a name and number where you can be reached.
